Gamification in AWS Certification Training
At the 2024 AWS Summit in Washington DC, I presented "Gaming Your Way to AWS Certifications": how game-based learning transforms cloud education through AWS Escape Room, Card Clash, and Cloud Quest.
Drawing from my own learning journey, the session showed strategies that use play to raise motivation, improve retention, and give people hands-on experience with genuinely complex AWS concepts. As a Learning Experience Designer in Customer Enablement, it was a career highlight: instructional design and cloud technology, finally in the same room.
Carried forward
I spent years gamifying other people's certifications. Then the framing followed me home: this whole site is a level, and it has two halves.
